My Tool Studio (“My Tool Studio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website at mytoolstudio.com (the “Site”) and the free online tools available on it (the “Tools”). We care about your privacy and have built the Site to keep data collection to a minimum. This policy describes our practices in plain language. By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Our privacy-first approach
Most of our Tools run entirely inside your browser. When a Tool processes your data on your device, for example formatting JSON, resizing an image, or generating a password, that data is never uploaded to our servers. It stays on your device and is discarded when you close or reload the page.
A smaller number of Tools need to contact a server to do their job - for example tools that fetch a URL you paste (meta tag readers, site crawlers, link extractors) or our file-transfer feature. These are described below. Even then, we aim to store as little as possible and for as short a time as possible.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Contact form. If you message us, we collect the name, email address, and message content you submit so we can reply.
- Newsletter / account. If you sign up for updates or create an optional account, we collect the email address (and any credentials) you provide.
- Tool inputs for server-side tools. For Tools that fetch a URL or transfer a file, we process the URL, file, or text you submit only to return the result you asked for.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our servers may automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and the date and time of your request. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnostics.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners (including advertising partners) may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy and Section 5 below.
- Analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage of the Site.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Site and Tools.
- To respond to your messages and support requests.
- To monitor and improve performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To detect, prevent, and address security incidents, fraud, and abuse.
- To display advertising and measure its performance (see Section 4).
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Advertising and Google AdSense
We use third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, to help keep the Site free. The following disclosures apply:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website and/or other websites on the internet.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, to collect information as a result of ad serving on the Site.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU). For more detail on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
5. Cookies and consent
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, to remember your preferences (such as light or dark mode), for analytics, and for advertising. Where required by law, for example for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we request your consent before setting non-essential cookies, including advertising cookies, through a consent management platform. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
6. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
If you are in the EEA or the UK, we process personal data on the following legal bases: your consent (for non-essential cookies and advertising); the performance of a contract (to deliver a Tool or service you request); our legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Site); and to comply with a legal obligation.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@mytoolstudio.com.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell your personal information for money. To the extent the sharing of data with advertising partners through cookies is treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under California law, you may opt out using the advertising controls in Section 4 or by contacting us.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Contact messages are kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable period after. Files sent through our file-transfer feature are automatically deleted after the expiry window shown in the Tool (currently around 6 hours). Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostics.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: service providers who help us operate the Site (such as hosting and analytics); advertising partners as described in Section 4; and authorities where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
10. International transfers
The Site is available globally and our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites and may display advertisements that link to third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be made prominent on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
