Choose WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 for almost all routers, WEP for very old ones, or Open for no password. Tick Hidden network if needed, then open Design for colours, a logo and a frame.

How to share an existing WiFi network as a QR code from your phone or computer
If a device is already connected, it can often show a WiFi QR code for you. That is handy when you do not know the password. You can then type the details here to make a styled, printable version.
- Android: open Settings, Wi-Fi, tap the connected network, then Share. After you unlock, a QR code and the password appear.
- iPhone: iOS shares WiFi to nearby Apple devices rather than showing a QR code. Open Settings, Wi-Fi, tap the network and tap Password to reveal it, then enter it here.

Common questions
What's actually stored inside a WiFi QR code?
A short text string in the WIFI: format, for example WIFI:T:WPA;S:HomeNet;P:hunter2;;. T is the security type, S the network name and P the password, with H:true added for hidden networks. Your phone reads those fields and offers to join.
How do I scan a WiFi QR code on iPhone?
Open the Camera app and point it at the code. A Wi-Fi banner appears; tap it, then tap Join. No extra app is needed.
How do I scan a WiFi QR code on Android?
On most recent Android phones, open the camera, or go to Settings, Wi-Fi and tap the QR icon next to Add network. Google Lens also reads these codes. Tap Connect when the network name appears.
Does a WiFi QR code work with WPA3?
For WPA3 personal networks, and routers in WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode, choose WPA / WPA2 / WPA3. The code is marked WPA, which is how phones expect password networks to be labelled. If an older phone cannot join a WPA3-only network, switch the router to mixed mode or share the password by hand.
Is it safe to print my WiFi password as a QR code?
Anyone who scans or photographs the code gets the password, so treat the printout like the password written on paper. A tidy setup is a separate guest network on your router with the card printed for that network, which keeps your own devices apart from visitors.
Can I make a WiFi QR code without the password showing?
Yes. Untick Show the password on the printed card and the card shows only the heading, network name and code. The password is still inside the QR code, so anyone who scans it can join, and some phones let people view the saved password afterwards.
Which printable WiFi card layouts are there?

Does the WiFi QR tool remember my network?
Only if you tick Remember the network name and security. It then stores the SSID, security type and hidden setting in this browser so the form is filled next time. The password is never saved, so you type it again each visit.
Does a WiFi QR code expire?
No. The code has no expiry date and does not depend on any website. It stops working only when you change the network name, password or security type, and then you need a new code.
What if my WiFi password contains semicolons or colons?
Those characters also separate fields in the WIFI: format, so the tool escapes them with a backslash as the format expects. Most phones handle this correctly, but test the code with your own phone first. If it fails, a password without those characters is the dependable fix.
