PDF up to 150 MB. Edited in your browser, never uploaded.
How to use
Open your PDF
Drop a PDF of up to 150 MB onto the page. The first page appears at full width. Use the page menu or the arrows to move between pages, and the zoom buttons to get closer.
Pick a tool and edit
Choose Add text and click where the words go, or drag with Rectangle, Highlight or White-out. Edit text lets you click an existing line to retype it. Select an item to change its font, colour, thickness or opacity in the side panel.
Save and download
Press Save and download PDF. Your edits are written into the original file at the exact spot you placed them, including on rotated pages, and the copy saves with an -edited suffix.
Why Edit PDF Online
- Text, images, shapes, arrows, freehand drawing, highlights, white-out, links and notes in one editor.
- Retype existing lines or find and replace a word across the whole PDF.
- Move, resize, layer, copy to all pages, undo and redo every change.
- Runs in your browser, so the PDF is never uploaded.
What each editing tool does
Every tool adds an item you can select later to move, resize, restyle, reorder or delete. Arrow keys nudge the selected item by one point, or ten with Shift.
| Tool | What it adds | How it is saved |
|---|---|---|
| Add text | Text in three font families, any size, colour, bold, italic, underline, alignment and optional background | Real PDF text, selectable and searchable |
| Edit text | A white box over an existing line plus a retyped copy you can change | White box and new text drawn on the page |
| Image | PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF picture, proportions kept by default | Embedded image; upright JPGs are kept byte for byte |
| Rectangle, Ellipse | Outline, fill, border thickness and opacity | Vector shapes |
| Line, Arrow | Straight lines and arrows, ends dragged separately | Vector lines |
| Draw | Freehand strokes as pen, highlighter pen or marker | Vector paths |
| Highlight | Translucent colour box that blends like a marker | Multiply-blended box |
| White-out | Opaque box in white or a matching page colour | Filled box over the content |
| Link, Note | Clickable area or a comment icon | Standard PDF annotations |
Limits worth knowing
Editing existing text works by covering and retyping, not by rewriting the original font data, so the new line uses the closest standard font. On scanned PDFs there is no text to pick, so use White-out and Add text instead.
- Files up to 150 MB, any number of pages, one page shown at a time.
- Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first.
- White-out hides content visually; it does not delete it from the file.
