Excel to PDF Converter

This Excel to PDF converter turns .xlsx, .xls, .ods and .csv files into PDFs in your browser. Pick which sheets to include, then set the page size, orientation and margins. Fit all columns on one page width shrinks wide sheets so nothing is cut off, or keep the actual size and let extra columns continue on the next pages. Gridlines, a first row repeated on every page, a bold header row, sheet names as titles and Page 1 of N numbers are each one tick. The converter follows Excel's print area, skips empty and hidden rows, and keeps merged cells. Latin text becomes a selectable text PDF; other scripts are drawn as images so every character shows. Cell colours, charts and pictures are not kept.

What this converter does not keep

  • Cell colours, fonts, borders and number formats other than the shown value (the text Excel displays is used).
  • Charts, pictures, shapes, comments and conditional formatting.
  • Formulas are not recalculated; the last saved result is printed.
  • Excel's own page breaks and headers are not read; pages break where the rows run out of space.

Why Excel to PDF Converter

Scaling options explained

Fit all columns on one page width measures the sheet's column widths and shrinks the text and columns together until the table fits between the margins. Rows still flow onto as many pages as they need.

Actual size keeps your chosen text size. Columns that do not fit continue on extra pages, with the first column repeated so each page still shows which row you are reading.

Common questions

How do I convert an Excel sheet to PDF so all columns fit on one page?
Keep Scaling on Fit all columns on one page width and Orientation on Auto. Wide sheets switch to landscape and the text is scaled down until every column fits. Very wide sheets can get small text, so check the result or pick A3.
Can I choose which sheets of a workbook go into the PDF?
Yes, with one file. The sheet list shows every sheet with a tick box; untick the ones you do not want. With several files, every visible sheet of each file is converted.
How do I repeat the header row on every PDF page?
Tick Repeat the first row on every page. The first row of each sheet is printed again at the top of each page that sheet runs onto, which keeps long tables readable.
Does Excel to PDF use the print area I set in Excel?
Yes, when Use the print area when one is set is ticked. Only the cells inside the print area are converted, and a note tells you it was used. Untick it to include the whole sheet.
Why is my Excel to PDF output an image instead of text?
The built-in PDF fonts only cover Latin characters. When a sheet contains Hindi, Arabic, Chinese or similar text, the Auto setting draws the pages as images so every character shows. Choose Print / Save as PDF for selectable text in those scripts.
Are cell colours and fonts kept when converting Excel to PDF?
No. The converter prints the values exactly as Excel displays them, with numbers right-aligned, but it does not copy fill colours, fonts or borders. The optional gridlines and shaded header row give a clean, readable table instead.
Can I convert a CSV file to PDF?
Yes. Drop the .csv file and it is read as one sheet named after the file. All the page, header and gridline options work the same way.
What happens to hidden rows and columns in Excel to PDF?
They are left out unless you tick Include hidden rows, columns and sheets. Empty rows and columns at the edges and in between are also skipped while Skip empty rows and columns is ticked.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded when I convert it to PDF?
No. SheetJS reads the file and jsPDF writes the PDF inside your browser. Formulas are not recalculated; the last saved value is printed.
