PDF to PowerPoint Converter

This PDF to PowerPoint converter makes a .pptx file with one slide for each PDF page, sized to match the page. Choose how each slide is built. Editable text on the page picture paints the words out of a page image and places editable text boxes on top, which looks closest to the original. Editable text and pictures only keeps just the text, tables and images, for slides you plan to redesign. Page pictures only gives an exact copy that cannot be edited. Text keeps its size, bold, italic, colour and links, and scanned pages can be read with OCR. Pick the picture quality, choose pages, and convert several PDFs at once. Everything runs in your browser. Charts arrive as pictures, not as editable charts.

Text is painted out of the page picture and placed on top as editable text boxes. Looks cleanest on plain backgrounds.

Leave empty for all, or type ranges like 1-3, 5.

Scanned pages have no text layer. OCR reads them from the page image.

The first run downloads this language's data.

For pages that mix two languages, such as Hindi and English.

What this converter does not keep

  • Animations, speaker notes and slide layouts, because a PDF does not store them.
  • Charts stay part of the page picture. Tables become real PowerPoint tables only in the editable-only style.
  • In the editable styles, text wraps line by line; long paragraphs are not reflowed.
  • All slides use the size of the first page. Other page sizes are scaled to fit.

How to use

01

Add one or more PDFs

Drop PDFs of up to 200 MB each. Reorder them with the arrow buttons and type a page range such as 1-10 if you do not need every page.

02

Pick the slide style

Choose Editable text on the page picture, Editable text and pictures only, or Page pictures only. Set the picture quality, the OCR mode for scans, and whether to keep the PDF's font names.

03

Convert and open in PowerPoint

Press Convert to PowerPoint. One file downloads as .pptx and several come as a ZIP. Open it in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote and edit the text boxes.

Why PDF to PowerPoint Converter

The three slide styles compared

Each style trades editability against how close the slide looks to the PDF page.

StyleLooks like the PDFEditable textUse it for

How text boxes are placed

Lines that share a left edge, size and steady spacing are grouped into one text box, with exact line spacing so each line lands where it was. Text boxes do not wrap, so changing the wording will not reflow a paragraph across lines.

Fonts keep their PDF names when Keep the PDF's font names is ticked. If a font is not installed, PowerPoint shows a similar one and the width of lines can change a little.

Common questions

How do I turn a PDF into editable PowerPoint slides?
Drop the PDF, keep Editable text on the page picture selected and press Convert to PowerPoint. Every line of text becomes a text box you can click and change, placed where it was on the page.
Which slide style should I choose when converting PDF to PowerPoint?
Editable text on the page picture looks closest to the PDF and lets you fix wording. Editable text and pictures only drops lines, shapes and backgrounds, so it suits a full redesign. Page pictures only looks exactly like the PDF but nothing can be edited.
Why do I see faint marks behind the text on some converted slides?
In the page picture style, the original words are painted out with the colour around them. On photos or gradients that patch can show. Switch to Editable text and pictures only, or to Page pictures only, for those pages.
Can a scanned PDF become editable PowerPoint slides?
Yes. Leave Text recognition on Auto and pick the language of the scan. Pages without a text layer are read with OCR and the words become text boxes. Check the result, because OCR can misread small or blurred text.
What size are the slides made from a PDF?
The slide size matches the first page of the PDF, so an A4 page gives an A4-shaped slide and a 16:9 export gives a 16:9 slide. Pages with a different size are scaled to fit and centred.
Does PDF to PowerPoint keep charts and tables editable?
Tables, yes, in the Editable text and pictures only style: text lined up in columns becomes a real PowerPoint table. Charts, no. A PDF stores a chart as drawn lines, so it stays part of the page picture. Rebuild key charts in PowerPoint if you need to edit their data.
How can I make the PowerPoint file smaller?
Set Picture quality to Small file, about 108 dpi, or choose Editable text and pictures only, which has no full-page pictures. Converting only the pages you need also helps.
Will the PowerPoint file open in Google Slides and Keynote?
Yes. The .pptx is a standard Office Open XML file with one blank layout, so it opens in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and LibreOffice Impress.
Is my PDF sent to a server when I convert it to PowerPoint?
No. The pages are rendered with pdf.js and the slides are written with JSZip in your browser. The PDF never leaves your device.
