This PDF viewer online opens a PDF in your browser without installing a reader or uploading the file. Pages are drawn with PDF.js, the same engine Firefox uses, so it behaves the same on Android phones, iPhones and computers. Open the sidebar for page thumbnails, bookmarks and document properties, jump to any page, zoom from 25 to 400 percent or fit the width or the whole page, and rotate the view. Night mode dims the pages for reading in the dark, and search highlights every match and steps from page to page. Print or download the file when you are done. It opens files up to 200 MB and only draws pages as you reach them, and the file never leaves your device.

Open the PDF

Drag a PDF into the upload area or tap to browse. The viewer accepts one file of up to 200 MB and shows its name, size and page count.

Read and move around

Scroll, type a page number, or open the sidebar and tap a thumbnail or bookmark. Use zoom, Fit width, Fit page, rotate, night mode and full screen to read comfortably.

Search, print or download

Type a word in Find text and press Enter to highlight matches, then use the arrows to step through them. The print and download buttons work on the same local file.

Common questions

Does this PDF viewer online send my file to a server?
No. The file is read into your browser's memory and drawn by PDF.js on your device. Once it is open you can turn off Wi-Fi and keep reading, which is a test you can run yourself.
Can I view a PDF in the browser on a phone?
Yes. Pages are drawn with PDF.js rather than the phone's own viewer, so it works in Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone. Very large scans take longer to draw on older phones.
How do I search for text inside a PDF online?
Type a word or phrase in Find text and press Enter. The viewer lists the pages that contain it, highlights the matches on upright pages, and the arrow buttons step to the previous or next page with a match. Scanned pages without a text layer cannot be searched.
Can I see the bookmarks and properties of a PDF online?
Yes. Open the sidebar and choose Bookmarks to see the document outline, then tap an entry to jump to it. The information tab shows the title, author, creating app, producer, dates, PDF version and page count.
Can the online PDF viewer open password-protected files?
Not yet. It shows a message asking you to remove the password first. Use Unlock PDF with the password you have, then open the unlocked copy here.
How do I print a PDF from the online viewer?
Press the printer button. The file is handed to your browser's own print dialog through a local link, so it is still not uploaded. If your browser blocks that, press Browser viewer and print from the tab that opens.
Does the PDF viewer have a dark or night mode?
Yes. The moon button inverts the page colours to light text on a dark background, which is easier on the eyes at night. It only changes the view, not the file.
Can the PDF viewer edit, annotate or fill forms?
No, it is read only, so you cannot type into form fields or add comments. For changes, use the other PDF tools, such as Sign PDF, Add Page Numbers to PDF or Merge PDF.
Which keyboard shortcuts work in the online PDF viewer?
Click the pages first. The left and right arrow keys change page, plus and minus zoom, R rotates the view, and Home and End jump to the first and last page. Page Up and Page Down scroll as usual.
What's the largest file the PDF viewer will open?
200 MB. Pages and thumbnails are drawn only as you reach them, so long documents open quickly and memory stays under control.
