PNG to PDF

PNG to PDF combines one or more PNG images into a PDF, one image per page. It is made for screenshots: PNGs are embedded without re-compression, so small interface text stays sharp and transparency is kept. Drag the thumbnails to set the order or sort them by file name, rotate any image, then keep each page the size of its image or use A4, Letter, A3, A5, Legal or a custom size with a margin. Untick Merge all images to get one PDF per screenshot in a ZIP. JPG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and HEIC files can go into the same PDF. How to use

Drop in your screenshots

Add PNG files, up to 50 MB each. JPG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and HEIC work too. Each image shows as a numbered thumbnail, and that number is its page in the PDF.

Arrange and set the page size

Drag thumbnails, use the arrow buttons or sort by name, and rotate any image. Keep Fit to image for pixel-exact pages, or choose a paper size, orientation and margin.

Name and download the PDF

Type a file name, choose whether to merge everything into one PDF, then press Convert to PDF. The document is assembled locally with pdf-lib and downloads straight away.

Why PNG to PDF

Tip: one PDF from phone screenshots for form uploads

Many application portals ask for a single PDF, for example a fee receipt, an admit card or a payment confirmation, and will not take a screenshot directly. You can make that PDF on the same phone in a minute.

Everything happens on your phone, so the screenshots are not sent anywhere except to the portal you choose.

  • Take the screenshots and crop out the status bar and keyboard in your photo editor.
  • Add them here, use Sort A to Z if the file names are in order, and choose A4 with a Small margin.
  • Give the file a clear name, such as fee-receipt, before you convert.
  • Check the portal's size limit, and if the PDF is too big, set Image quality to Medium and convert again.

Common questions

How do I convert multiple PNG files into one PDF?
Drop all the PNG files onto the upload area, or add them a few at a time. Put the thumbnails in order, keep Merge all images into one PDF ticked and press Convert to PDF. Each image becomes one page of a single PDF.
Can I convert PNG to PDF without losing quality?
Yes. With Image quality on Original, PNG files are embedded exactly as they are, with no re-compression. With A4 or Letter pages the image is shown smaller to fit, but its full-resolution pixels are still in the PDF.
How do I make PNG to PDF in A4 size?
Choose A4 in Page size. Every screenshot is scaled to fit the page and centred, and Auto orientation gives wide screenshots a landscape page. A Small margin makes the result look like a normal printed document.
Does PNG transparency stay in the PDF?
Yes, the alpha channel is kept when Image quality is Original. Most PDF viewers show transparent areas against white, so the page looks normal. Choosing a smaller quality or grayscale turns images into JPEG, which puts them on white.
How do I convert a screenshot to PDF on my phone?
Take the screenshot, open this page in your phone's browser and tap the upload area to pick it from your photos. Choose A4 if the PDF is for a form, then tap Convert to PDF.
How large a PDF will my PNG screenshots make?
Roughly the total size of the PNG files, because they are embedded without re-encoding. If a ticket system or portal caps attachments, set Image quality to Medium, which saves the screenshots as JPEG inside the PDF, or compress the PDF afterwards.
Can I change the order of screenshots after adding them to the PNG to PDF list?
Yes. Drag a thumbnail to a new position, focus its up or down arrow button and press Enter, or use Sort A to Z to order by file name. The number on each thumbnail updates to show its new page.
Where does my data go when I convert PNG to PDF online here?
Nowhere. The document is assembled in your browser by pdf-lib, with no upload, which matters when screenshots show customer accounts or internal dashboards.
Should screenshots be converted as PNG or turned into JPGs first?
Keep them as PNG. Converting interface captures to JPG adds blurry edges around text before the PDF is even built. JPG suits photographs, and the JPG to PDF page covers that case.
